Hello!! You've found my (Susan Gillmor's) web page.

Biophysical Society Conference (Long Beach 2005).
I did my best to cause trouble....
Everyone: (l-r) Ka Yee C. Lee (kayeelee@uchicago.edu), Anne Hinderliter (anne.hinderliter@ndsu.edu), Jean Chin (chinj@nigms.nih.gov), Sarah Keller (slkeller@chem.washington.edu), Erin D Sheets (eds11@psu.edu), and Kalina Hristova (kh@jhu.edu), ME!(sdg@nano.psu.edu)
They are movers and shakers in the membrane
world. I have a lot to catch up with them.
Professionally...
I'm a post-doc in Paul Weiss' surface science lab after graduate work in Max Lagally's lab at UW-Madison, but I do not use a STM. (http://stm1.chem.psu.edu/labtour/)
My research interests center on the interaction between the extracellular matrix and cell membranes.
To understand this HUGE area, I use vesicles as model membranes on topographically patterned surfaces.
I work with Julia Heetderks (http://stm1.chem.psu.edu/~jjh).
Research: Lipid Vesicles on Surface Topography
My other pursuits involve:
Marathons:

Qualifying time: 3:30.56 (Steamtown Oct 10, 2004)...actual time...3:58.
Running for the Community Health Center in State College...http://web.cvim.net/
And...
Ultimate Frisbee...

Also (finally), I recently have gotten engaged. For all my friends to oooh and aaah....here is the ring.
I have decided not to subject my sweetie to embarrassment via web.
