Confocal microscopy allows us to image many XY slices to form a reconstructed image of a vesicle. With the z-dimensional accuracy, we examine the XZ and YZ planes for vesicle deformation on surfaces. The example to the right shows the information available from a confocal image. The two-phase vesicle on the right is a widefield image of a similar vesicle.
